Transcript of Letter:

His Excellency laid before the Board the following Requisition.

“Mr. President and Gentlemen of the Council, Major General Hunter has informed me, that it is absolutely necessary that he be furnished without delay, with five hundred Negroes with Bills and Cutlasses to destroy the Provisions in the Charaib Country, over and above completing the Rangers to the number of eight hundred Men. I earnestly recommend this to your immediate attention, and also that a proportionate number of proper Conductors be appointed to go with and take charge of those Negroes.”
