Gideon L. Exeter was born in Layou, St. Vincent and migrated to Canada in 1982. He became a member of the SVGAT in 1984 and since then has held several positions including being elected five times as president. He is credited with being the driving force behind most of the current programs within the organization.
Gideon is a Licensed Cemetery Director and Funeral Pre-Planner with Arbor Memorial Inc. He resides with his wife, Nichole and have three adult sons and a step-daughter.
