The SVGAT held a history and genealogy Zoom presentation during Black History Month on February 22. Wendell Cole spoke on the Garifuna heritage of the island, Cheryl Hazell presented on the migrations of Vincentians to the United States in the early 1900s, and the keynote speaker, Dr. Adrian Fraser, spoke on a range of topics related to the history of the island.
Dr. Fraser, a renowned historian and author, has written a book with co-authors Dr. Garry Dennie and Dr. Cleve Scott, called St. Vincent and the Grenadines: A General History to the Year 2025 - Native Peoples, Genocide, and African Enslavement in St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Circa BP 5000 to 1838, Volume 1
The book launch will be held at the UWI Global Campus in Frenches on Friday, March 20 at 6pm
